A Conscious Studio Led By Love
Sádé spent over a decade working in the humanitarian communications sector, where she witnessed both the power and limitations of narrative in systems of care. Today, her work bridges movement and activism, grounded in years of social practice and a deep commitment to embodied storytelling.
Jerel spent over seven years designing for international organizations, where he explored the role of visual language in shaping collective understanding and social change. Today, his work spans film, sound, and design, all cemented in a decade of visual storytelling and a commitment to culture as a catalyst for impact.
Together, SOLA is where their ways of sensing and meaning-making converge as co-builders of a shared life and a design practice that centers story, cultivates care, and makes space for culture to carry its voice forward.
SOLA was born from a desire to step outside the confines of conventional corporate culture, and into a way of working that felt more honest, human, and whole.
We were disillusioned by spaces and systems that measured success only by outputs, speed, extraction, and control. We felt the fatigue of constantly producing and performing while craving a creative practice that honored the intangible: connection, slowness, imagination, care, beauty, and depth. A space where creativity could be both purposeful and playful. Where design could be both strategic and soulful.
In choosing a different path, we began to understand how deeply the world overlooks the invisible forces that truly shape experience: tenderness, intuition, relationality, and presence. Forces often dismissed by capitalist and colonial logics, yet central to how we want to live and work. This insight reshaped how we lead, collaborate, and design; and it guided us toward a practice that embraces love and humanity as a method and purpose.
SOLA has now become more than a design studio. For us it is a container. A creative ecosystem. A space that makes room for feeling inside our bodies and the places that shape us to be held together, in all our complexities.
We believe in design that doesn’t just communicate, but transforms — emotionally, culturally, and systemically.
We wholeheartedly believe in creative leadership that centers humility, curiosity, and care. And we believe in co-creation as a political, artistic, and spiritual act.

In our life together as a lovingly married couple, we’ve discovered the profound beauty of harmonizing both the masculine and feminine energies within our relationship. It is the heart of our work at SOLA as we understand first hand that the fusion of strength and sensitivity, clarity and intuition, forms a potent and transformative creative synergy that can manifest in powerful ways.

The Studio
SOLA is a boutique creative studio based in Trinidad and Tobago, working across invisible borders to co-create with heart-led storytellers, culture shapers, and community builders. We design experiences that live across story, system, and space; grounded in care, cultural resonance, and the belief that design can move us toward more connected, liberated futures.
We work at the intersections of leadership, strategy, digital experience, culture, and the arts, supporting community and participatory-driven solutions that invite transformation, honor interdependence, and deepen the capacity to act with clarity and purpose on both local and global scales.
With over fifteen years of shared experience in creative practice and social transformation, we bring a layered, intentional approach to communication that listens, feels, and speaks across diverse mediums.

For us, experience design means crafting the spaces, stories, and systems that shape how people feel, connect, and move through the world. It asks us to be present. To listen. To co-create. To collectively transform. We are interested in design that lives in the body, breathes in time, and leaves something behind.

Co-Creation is Our Core
Co-creation is our way working, sensing, and making. Every project is shaped by a brilliant ecosystem of artists, strategists, and technologists, and who bring unique perspectives and lived wisdom into the room.
We believe the most powerful creativity is never singular. It lives in the collective. We create participatory containers for creativity, where everyone involved is part of the vision, the process, and the impact.
Co-FOUNDER / Creative Operations Director
Sádé Budhlall
Sádé Budhlall is an interdisciplinary dance artist, scholar, activist and co-founder of SOLA. Embedded in the Caribbean and shaped by diasporic memory, her practice moves between art and social practice.
Drawing from abolitionist and decolonial frameworks, Sádé works at the intersection of pedagogy and social justice. She brings a critical and poetic lens to design, understanding it, like movement, as a way of sensing, resisting, and reimagining the world.

Jerel Ramsey
Jerel is a multi award wining visual storyteller whose creative practice spans graphic design, film, and digital media. With a foundation in narrative building and a deep sensitivity to visual culture, he approaches each project as a living conversation, that invites connection and shifts how we perceive the world.
His work traces the relationship between form, feeling, and future-making, shaping emotional landscapes that remember as much as they inspire. As co-founder of SOLA, Jerel designs experiences that hold space for complexity, foster community, and invite people to tell their stories.

Sola Bean
Not your ordinary feline, Sola brings a unique blend of charm, mischief, and unsolicited insights to our team.
With his curious nature and mischievious antics, he keeps us on our toes, reminding us that true creativity is about embracing the unexpected and finding joy in the little disruptions that life brings.
Design Associate
Tevin George
Tevin George is a designer and illustrator whose practice bridges drawing, design, and visual storytelling. With a foundation in illustration and a Merit in Graphic Design from the School of Business and Computer Science, he has built an impressive portfolio spanning branding, digital media, and illustration.
His creative voice is shaped by a unique blend of influences—the raw, experimental edge of brutalism, the clarity and structure of typography-driven design, and the dynamic aesthetics of anime. This interplay allows him to create visuals that resonate with both precision and feeling. At SOLA, Tevin extends this approach into our co-creative design work, bringing depth, edge, and radical imagination to the studio’s evolving practice.
